The Animal Health Foundation
was founded in 1984 by Donald M. Walsh, D.V.M. of Homestead Veterinary
Hospital in Pacific, Missouri. The goal of this non-profit organization is
to find the cause and prevention of laminitis-founder complex in horses.
The Foundation donates funds to major researchers in the field of
laminitis. AHF also offers information to help horse owners prevent their
horses from becoming victims of the painful disease. Progress is steadily
being made in understanding laminitis; it is important to continue the
work in order to try to make a difference in the lives of our equine
companions.
